One of the most important things that you need for your book to sell, is the cover, blurb, and back cover of your book. The first thing someone will see is the front cover of your book. If it doesn’t catch the eye, it won’t sell. So, that being said, how do you get a cover that will work. there are several ways.
You can design the cover yourself using a program like Publisher, or one of the other graphics programs, or you can do something really good, like using Canva. Its free, and it is fully interactive, some of the images you have to buy, or you can go to Pixabay and download clipart or other things to use as elements of the cover. Personally, I use Canva and Pixabay, they are invaluable resources for the aspiring writer who want to make his own covers. Listen, using pictures that are available there or even purchasing them from Shutter Stock, is a perfectly acceptable way to design a cover.
You also can use cover designers and pay a little money, around $25.00 and get a nice cover made. You are still in control of the project and you are good to go. It is as important as your story. The cover must convey the emotion, drama, and sense of the story in as few words as possible. You should never accept an inadequate cover, it is not going to sell books, and that is the reason you do it.
Think on these things, the cover and blurb is as important as the story in terms of selling points.
